Angela Nesbit effortlessly captures light, movement, and texture in a brief yet poignant blur of childhood. Although Nesbit’s energy is most easily identifiable in her child figures, she maintains the same style when approaching landscapes and still-lifes, using fewer strokes to retain more energy and emotion in her subjects, whether they are children, flowers, or hillsides. Settled amid thick layers of paint, her simple subjects wander softly in and out of the background.

Nesbit received a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and studied classical drawing and painting at Queens University and Spirit Square Center for the Arts in Charlotte, N.C.
