Chas Fagan is a nationally recognized landscape and portrait artist as well as a sculptor.
A Yale graduate, Chas's commissioned pieces include a portrait of Barbara Bush for the White House, sculptures of Neil Armstrong for Washington DC and President George H. W. Bush for the city of Houston and, in the works, Ronald Reagan for the city of London, England. His highly collected landscape and still life paintings were recently featured in a museum retrospective of his work in Pennsylvania.
After an international search in June of 2008, Chas Fagan was commissioned by the May 20th Society, leading a community wide effort to produce a statue called The Spirit of Mecklenburg on the Greenway in Uptown Charlotte. The sculpture will be a heroic size monument of Captain James Jack, a historic figure in the annuals of Charlotte Mecklenburg history. Jack volunteered to deliver The Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence in 1775 one year prior to Jefferson's more famous document.
