Curtis Jaunsen graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, earning his Bachelor and Master’s degree in Architecture. In 2002 he decided to concentrate fully on his true passion, fine art painting. Jaunsen moved to Florence, Italy, where he was accepted to the atelier style, Florence Academy of Art.

The recipient of a work study scholarship in his second year, his training at the Academy included all aspects of painting, from the rudiments of paint preparation to the finished canvas. Living in Florence, he was able to study and draw inspiration from the old-world master painters on display in museums and private institutions all around the historic city.
